Dr. Dutta joined the Department of Orthopaedics in the summer of 2005.  Born in Nebraska and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Dr. Dutta graduated from Duke University with a degree in chemistry and history.  He earned his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in 1995.

 

He completed his internship in general surgery and residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.  His training continued with a fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at the Baylor University Medical Center/U.T. Southwestern in Dallas, Texas.  Dr. Dutta is also an officer in the U.S. Naval Reserve.

 

He has received many awards and honors including:

4 Golden Bone Awards for Teaching Excellence

2 Robert K. and Marie Hutching Awards for Academic Excellence in Orthopaedics

The Orthopaedic-in-Training Master Award at UTMB

Margaret Haase Memorial Scholarship Award and the Fred S. Clinton Scholarship Award at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine

 

Dr. Dutta provides state of the art treatment for a variety of orthopaedic problems.  He is an accomplished researcher and writer about orthopaedic issues and has a variety of published works.  He has traveled extensively and works with colleagues in Italy, France, and other countries as a participant in the international exchange of orthopaedic knowledge.  He is a member of the AMA, TMA, and AAOS among others.
