Originally from Galveston, Dr. Morrey was transplanted to Minnesota at an early age.  He completed his BA degree at St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota followed by a Masters degree in Medical Illustration from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia.  He then worked as a professional Medical Illustrator for three years prior to returning to medical school.  He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and returned  to Minnesota where he completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the Mayo Clinic with an emphasis on primary and revision adult reconstruction.   

During his training he contributed multiple medical illustrations for a number of authors, and was a co editor and illustrator of the Master’s Technique in Orthopedic series ‘Relevant Surgical Exposures.’

 

His main area of clinical interest is both primary and revision hip and knee replacement.

Professionally he is also interested in resident education and innovative methods of continuing education that utilize his medical illustration background.
