Clinical Trials

UT Health researchers lead the way in cancer research and clinical trials. With the hundreds of trials being conducted by our researchers, we are finding better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat individual cancers, offering hope to our patients and getting closer to a world free of cancer.

Am I eligible for a clinical trial?

Being a patient at the Mays Cancer Center will give you access to be eligible to participate in one of our many open clinical trials. Patients who are eligible for a clinical trial will discuss the treatment process with their physician prior to deciding whether they want to participate in the study. Participation is voluntary and you will never be enrolled into one of our clinical trials without your permission. If you are eligible for a clinical trial you will be asked to sign a consent form prior to starting. Your participation in a clinical trial could help us get one step closer to curing cancer.

“With a more basic understanding of how chemotherapy damages normal tissues such as the heart, we can begin to develop new medicines that protect vulnerable organs from the damage that results in late health effects in survivors.”
