Cervical cancer remains a serious gynecological cancer in women, especially in Hispanic, Asian and African-American women. It is a global health care problem in women. This is cancer with symptoms that are not easy to recognize and, often, no symptoms appear in the early stages of this cancer.
Why choose the Mays Cancer Center for cervical cancer treatment?
You’ll receive care from a multidisciplinary team led by the cancer center’s gynecological oncologists, who specialize in gynecological cancers. You can count on a comprehensive evaluation and a treatment plan that is decided upon by a team with your involvement. The cancer center’s gynecological oncologists specialize in the diagnosis, staging, surgical treatment, chemotherapy and survivorship care of all cervical cancer patients. Clinical trial-based treatments are available. The center’s gynecological oncology team partners with national organizations, including the National Cancer Institute, for clinical trial-based treatment options for patients.
As a cancer center designated by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), we have teams who specialize in all phases of clinical trials, which can be an important option. We will talk you through the steps involved in participating in a clinical trial if a particular trial is seen as an appropriate path to take in your treatment plan.
