Dr. Jane Shi earned her medical degree in Beijing, China, at the Peking University Health Science Center before relocating to the United States. She completed her doctorate in biomedical science at the UT Health Science Center at Houston in 2001 and stayed on at M.D. Anderson to complete a postdoctoral fellowship in proteomics research. She then completed residencies in both internal medicine and radiation oncology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Shi, who is board certified in physics and radiobiology by the American College of Radiology, joined the Cancer Therapy & Research Center faculty this year as a clinical assistant professor in the department of radiation oncology. Her clinical interest is treating patients with gastrointestinal and biliary cancers and her research is focused on the post-treatment effects of radiation therapy on patients.
