Stomach cancer (gastric cancer) originates in the stomach.
New cases of gastric cancer appear to be declining in the United States, but gastric cancer still remains a global healthcare concern.
Why choose the Cancer Therapy & Research Center (CTRC) for stomach cancer?
We are the only National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated cancer center in Central and South Texas. We have a multidisciplinary team led by gastrointestinal medical oncologists, surgical oncologists and radiation oncologists, that partner with gastrointestinal physicians and surgeons trained in endoscopy techniques, as well as pathologists who specialize in gastrointestinal pathology
Our team designs a treatment plan specific to the patient. Your care plan is developed after rapid comprehensive evaluations and discussion at regularly conducted cancer conferences.
Clinical trials at the CTRC
The CTRC offers care delivered by teams who specialize in all phases of clinical trials. Clinical trials are available to patients of all stages of treatment, from early diagnosis through existing therapies.
As a National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated cancer center, the CTRC also offers experimental treatments and first-in-human clinical trials under special programs for patients.
