Metastatic brain tumors are tumors that spread to the brain from a primary tumor elsewhere in the body. Some patients have a single tumor in the brain that is easily removed at surgery. Other patients have multiple tumors in all parts of the brain.
At the UT Health San Antonio Cancer Center, metastatic brain tumor patients receive care from a team made up of a partnership between our neuro-oncology team and our oncology team, whose members care for the primary tumor elsewhere in the body.
