Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is a type of lymph node cancer that has many subcategories. The types of lymphomas included under the category of non-Hodgkin lymphoma are many distinct cancers. These cancers affect the body in different ways and have very different genetic and molecular features.
The diagnosis of these varied lymphoma types can be quickly determined and a targeted treatment plan developed because the differences in the many types of non-Hodgkin lymphoma are obvious to a lymphoma expert.
Types of non-Hodgkin lymphoma include:
- Follicular lymphoma
- Marginal zone lymphoma
- Mantle cell lymphoma
- Diffuse large b-cell lymphoma
- Burkitt lymphoma
- Lymphoblastic lymphoma
A variety of lymphomas originate from an immunological ancestor called a B-cell, and therefore are called B-cell lymphoma.
A variety of lymphomas that came from an ancestor called a T-cell, are named T-cell lymphoma.

Pathologists specializing in blood, marrow and lymph node cancers, called hemato-pathologists, will discuss your diagnosis at one of our regularly conducted conferences and your treatment plan will be designed with your input.
We are South Texas’ only National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated cancer center. Because of our designation, you can depend on the expertise of teams who specialize in all phases of clinical trials. Clinical trials are available for patients who have just been diagnosed and never treated, and also for patients who have had prior treatments.
