A veneer is a custom-made overlay that can be used to correct teeth that are slightly misshapen, cracked, chipped or darkened. The veneer overlay is bonded to your existing teeth.
A lab makes the veneer using a model of the teeth. This model for the veneer is obtained by your dentist. Veneers require your dentist to remove a small bit of your tooth’s enamel to bond the overlay to your tooth. You can not undo a veneer once it has been placed.
