A veneer is a custom-made overlay that can be used to correct teeth that are slightly misshapen, cracked, chipped or darkened. The veneer overlay is bonded to your existing teeth.
A lab makes the veneer using a model of the teeth, which is then obtained by your dentist. Veneers require your dentist to remove a small bit of your tooth’s enamel to bond the overlay to your tooth. Veneers cannot be undone once they have been placed.
