Kidney Stone Center patient with doctor

We provide state-of-the-art care for diagnosing, treating and preventing kidney stones. This can include everything from surgery to comprehensive metabolic evaluation and consultation for the prevention of future kidney stones.

Physicians at the UT Health San Antonio's Comprehensive Kidney Stone Center are certified by the American Board of Urology and have completed fellowship training in Endourology. As a result of this subspecialty training, our physicians are experts in the evaluation, surgical treatment and long-term management of patients with kidney stones and act as consultants to other urologists.

Patients of all ages, children, and adults, may be referred to the Kidney Stone Center by their primary care physician or urologist. Patients may also make appointments directly.

We can help you even if you don’t have a kidney stone now but want to prevent one in the future. We provide care for patients with all types of kidney stones including relatively rare cystine stones, uric acid stones, and the more common calcium-based stones.

Our kidney stone specialist, Timothy Tseng, M.D., is trained in the most advanced and effective therapies and treatments.
