Manual Therapy

Man receiving physical therapy treatment

Manual therapy is a specialized form of physical therapy that provides specific hands-on techniques to help relieve pain.

Manual therapy is a hands-on approach that helps improve range of motion, induce relaxation, mobilize or manipulate soft tissue and joints and reduce inflammation or restriction. Your physical therapist will come up with a treatment plan that may include manipulating joints, muscles and soft tissue in controlled directions to regain movement. Some examples of manual therapy techniques are myofascial release, massage, stretching, range of motion and active release.

If you suffer from muscle, joint or soft tissue conditions that affect your posture, strength or cause pain, manual therapy is an effective treatment option.
