If you have difficulty conceiving, you may suffer from infertility. Infertility is a disease that affects ten to fifteen percent of people in the United States. Improvements in technology make pregnancy possible for the majority of patients seeking treatment. It affects women and men with equal frequency. Because infertility increases with age, those over the age of 35 should seek early intervention.
Patients with infertility can benefit from the unique care provided by a UT Medicine Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) specialist. We offer basic and advanced fertility services.
Basic fertility services we provide include ovulation induction, ovulation monitoring, semen analysis, endometrial biopsy, hysterosalpingogram (HSG) testing and sonography.
Advanced fertility services include in vitro fertilization, pre-implantation genetic screening and diagnosis, intracytoplasmic sperm injection, intrauterine insemination, fertility medicine management, female factor infertility, male factor infertility, unexplained infertility, semen analysis, donor eggs and embryos, ovulation monitoring, laparoscopic surgery, robotic surgery, uterine fibroid surgery, tubal surgery, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS treatment), endometriosis surgery and treatment, premature ovarian failure treatment, abnormal bleeding treatment and fertility treatment after cancer/oocyte and sperm cryopreservation.
The UT Medicine Fertility Center is an active member of the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology, the professional organization that sets the standard in advanced fertility therapy. Our physicians are board-certified and have completed a four year residency in obstetrics and gynecology and obtained a minimum of two additional years of fellowship training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. As a result of this subspecialty training, they are experts in diagnosis and treatment of patients with infertility and endocrine abnormalities and act as consultants to obstetrician-gynecologists. Our physicians have received multiple clinical excellence, research, and teaching awards. They are recognized leaders in the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and are involved in cutting edge research to evaluate and treat infertility.
Our physicians are also faculty at the UT Health Science Center San Antonio School of Medicine. This allows us to remain one of the most cost-efficient fertility practices in the area. Our staff is happy to answer questions about referrals, itemized diagnostic and treatment costs and billing options.
