Benefits

UT Police provides a competitive pay and benefits package. As a UT Police officer, you qualify for paid leave, medical benefits and retirement benefits as follows:

Paid leave

Eligible employees receive paid time-off based on years of service, compensated time for extended illness, as well as 12 designated university holidays and three floating holidays per year.

Medical benefits

UT Police offers health, vision, dental and other insurance options. Medical insurance is provided to the officer free of charge and other insurance options are available at an additional cost.

Retirement benefits

Members of UT Police receive retirement benefits through the Teacher Retirement System of Texas. Additional and optional retirement programs are also available.

Uniforms and equipment

Uniforms and duty gear/equipment are provided to officers free of charge, and officers receive an annual uniform allowance after two years of service. UTPD officers are equipped with cutting edge technology and safety equipment.

Training

Continued and advanced police tactics training is offered. All our officers are certified and trained at the highest levels and have the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the demands of modern policing.
