Rape Aggression Defense
UT Health Police offers a women's self-defense program titled Rape Aggression Defense, or R.A.D. The R.A.D. System has its foundation in education and awareness, providing hands-on self-defense tactics and techniques. Courses are taught by certified R.A.D. instructors who are trained to instruct women on self-defense techniques.
R.A.D. is a practical course designed to teach the average woman how to reduce risk by:
- Recognizing and avoiding dangerous situations
- Becoming more assertive and forcefully saying, "No" when appropriate, and
- Learning basic, easy-to-use physical self-defense techniques
