Rape Aggression Defense
UT Police offers a women's self-defense program called Rape Aggression Defense, or R.A.D. The Rape Aggression Defense System is a program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques, but it is not a martial arts program. Our courses are taught by certified R.A.D. instructors who are trained to instruct women on self-defense techniques.
R.A.D. is a practical course designed to teach the average woman how to reduce risk by:
- Recognizing and avoiding dangerous situations
- Becoming more assertive and forcefully saying, "No" when appropriate, and
- Learning basic, easy-to-use physical self-defense techniques
Each class consists of three, four-hour sessions, and specific class times and schedules may vary. For more information on the Rape Aggression Defense program, please contact Inspector George Pettit by email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or by phone at 210-567-2800.
