Requests for Public Information
and Corrections of Personal Information

Much of the information that is collected by state institutions, such as The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, is available to the public, with certain exceptions, under the Texas Public Information Act.

In addition, individuals have rights under Section 559.03(a) of the Texas Government Code to correct any erroneous personal information The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio collects.

Under Section 559.004 of the Texas Government Code, you are entitled to have The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio correct information about you that is held by The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and that is incorrect, in accordance with the procedures set forth in The University of Texas System Policy UTS 139, Texas Public Information Act.

The information that The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio collects will be retained and maintained as required by Texas records retention laws (Section 441.180 et seq. of the Texas Government Code) and rules. Different types of information are kept for different periods of time.
