  • The proportions of direct patient care (DPC) physicians by race/ethnicity are displayed for the San Antonio Metropolitan area. The San Antonio Metropolitan area consists of Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, and Wilson Counties.
  • The proportion of the physician workforce that is White (Non-Hispanic) decreased from 66.7 to 63.5 percent between 1997 and 2003. Nevertheless, direct patient care physicians are primarily White (Non-Hispanic).
  • The proportion of the workforce that is Hispanic increased from 21.9 to 24.1 percent between 1997 and 2003.
