Advanced Standing in Respiratory Care for the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

The Program: The Bachelor of Science degree program in Respiratory Care is dedicated to the achievement of clinical and academic excellence. As a leadership program in respiratory care, the program aspires to provide graduates with the foundation needed to assume professional leadership roles in clinical practice, clinical specialty areas, research, management and education. The advanced standing program for registered respiratory therapists awards up to 61 semester hours of credit based on the RRT credential. RRT advanced standing students must enroll in and complete a minimum of 30.5 semester hours of respiratory care course work at the Health Science Center.

Purpose of Advanced Standing Program:

The purpose of the advanced standing program is to recognize and give formal educational credit for knowledge and/or ability gained through previous training or experience.
