Applicant Information

Preparation

You should complete at least 50 semester credit hours of prerequisites before applying to the Program. This includes biology and chemistry with appropriate laboratories. When selecting your prerequisite science courses, be sure to select the courses that will count toward a biology or chemistry major or that is appropriate for pre-medical students. No survey or introductory science courses will satisfy the science prerequisites for CLS.

You do not need to complete all prerequisites and core curriculum courses before you begin your coursework at UTHSCSA. During your sophomore and junior years you may be dually enrolled at UTHSCSA and another university or college such as UTSA or SAC. Transfer students who have completed all prerequisites and core curriculum courses may be full-time students at UTHSCSA.
