Requirements for a Post-Baccalaureate
Categorical Certificate in Microbiology
EFFECTIVE FALL 2004
The student must have a baccalaureate from a regionally
accredited college/university with 30 semester hours of
biological sciences including at least 20 hours of microbiology
(this includes CLSC microbiology courses.) Prerequisites
include: genetics, general micro/lab, biochemistry, physiology,
statistics and immunology (upper division immunology or
CLSC 3065 Clinical Immunology.) These courses may have
been completed as a part of the baccalaureate or may be
taken concurrently with courses from the curriculum in
microbiology upon approval of a faculty advisor. The Department
of Clinical Laboratory Sciences structured curriculum
in microbiology includes the following:
