Program Director: Mary Jacks, RDH, MS |
Our goal is to expand the knowledge base and skill set of the profession by nurturing the intellectual development of the professional. The UTHSCSA Master of Science in Dental Hygiene degree prepares professional dental hygienists with specialized skills in one or more of the following areas: health promotion/education, management/administration, research, advanced clinical practice, and consumer advocacy. The curriculum and research experience establish a foundation of basic and dental science principles that support the dental hygiene specialty and prepare graduates for academic and research environments.
The program director's role is to counsel and support the graduate student in all phases of the educational process from entrance into the program until graduation with their Master’s of Science degree.
