Welcome to UTHSCSA's Department of Physical Therapy

We are excited to welcome you to the website for the Department of Physical Therapy, here in the School of Allied Health Sciences, at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Our webmaster, Chris Rábago (also President of our Physical Therapy Alumni Association - PTAA) continues to do an outstanding job in managing the site for us. We hope you will find the site easy to navigate and full of important information about our current, fully accredited, Master of Physical Therapy program which we hope to transition to the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) in the Fall of 2008.

This year we are pleased to welcome some new Faculty members and staff to the Department and we are all looking forward to a productive and rewarding year. In particular, we are looking forward to another successful year for our Physical Therapy Alumni Association (PTAA) and we want to add a special welcome to all of our Alumni who come to the site. There are exciting events planned for the Association and I urge you to visit the Alumni link. This link will also be of interest to prospective employers as we hope to assist them in contacting our Alumni seeking employment opportunities.

If you are contemplating applying for our program, congratulations on a very wise decision! This is a great time to apply for a career in Physical Therapy. Opportunities in the profession abound and the current job market is “hot, hot, hot.” Be sure to contact Mrs. Blanche Thompson, our Admissions Councilor, since she is the primary contact person to assist you with your application (see the Prospective Student Link).
