|
RecapThe PTAA had an extremely successful Alumni Bash this past December. The day began with a PT
department open house and continental breakfast sponsored by Momentum and Helotes Physical Therapy. Following breakfast, Dr. Mike Geelhoed (’98) presented a free Ethics CE course sponsored by
the Department of Physical Therapy. After a catered lunch sponsored by Baptist Health System, we
continued with a CE titled “Anatomy and Differential Diagnosis of Brachial Plexus Lesions” taught by
Dr. Patricia Brewer (Assoc PTAA Member), Janna McGaugh (’99), and Dr. Mike Geelhoed (’98). The
evening festivities included a catered barbeque dinner, beer and wine bar, door prizes, and awards
sponsored by St. David’s Healthcare. Over 80 alumni spanning from the first PT class of 1980 to the last
graduating class of 2004, students, faculty and guests attended. An award was presented to Celia Barrera
Rodriguez for representing the first class of 1980. Recognition also went out to the class of 2004 for
having the most representation at the Bash. PTAA’s highest award of Distinguished Alumnus of the
Year was given to Alejandro “Alex” Mata, ‘96. Click here to view the 2004 Alumni Weekend Photo Album
