Job Board News

Upon request from our job board partners, the PTAA will again be offering a shorter posting period. Now you can display your positions for a $125 donation to the endowment for a 3 month unlimited (numerous simultaneous ads) posting. If you would like to guarantee that your advertisements will stay up at the most critical times through out the academic year, you can join at the discounted yearly subscription rate of $400/year (a $100 savings) for unlimited (numerous simultaneous ads) postings.

The PTAA would like to start off by thanking all our job board partners for having the foresight to advertise their job vacancies to the Allied Health community through our website.  We are now linked to the websites of the Texas Society of Allied Health Professions, St. Philip’s College and the University of Texas at San Antonio.  We have displayed our job board partner's contact information in our official newsletter, “The Goni,” which is mailed to over 800 people.  We plan to formally thank each job board partner for their donations to the PTAA endowment for student scholarships by adding their names to a permanent plaque in the Department of Physical Therapy, which will display all donors to the endowment for student scholarships.  We have also heard from our alumni and students that they have contacted many of our online job board partners in pursuing fantastic employment opportunities.  In fact, our job board is getting a lot of word of mouth, because it requires no registration by the public.  Licensed PTs, PTAs, OTs, COTAs, and SLPs from a variety of different schools are frequently viewing our site.  Our alumni have taken it upon themselves to promote the use of our online job board to their fellow clinicians in search of new employment opportunities. We are also experiencing a large influx of interest into posting job ads through out the year. Our soon to graduate students often begin their job searches at our website, because they know it to be reliable and up to date.

How to Post a Job

Upon receipt of this donation, registration form, and your ad, we will instantly inform our members of the posting of your ads.

About the PTAA Online Job Board

Over the past few years, UTHSCSA's Department of Physical Therapy has realized that the current advertisement/job board (in the hall) has been unable to promote employment opportunities in a timely manner to our students and alumni.  Our soon-to-graduate students (3rd year students) are out on clinical affiliations for 7 months in their last year.  They do not return to school until Mid-Spring of their last year.  Therefore, they do not have an opportunity to view the board.  Furthermore, many of them will return from their affiliations with job offers in hand.  Yet, there is a demand for an active and accurate job posting board.  Our alumni are frequently moving, searching for employment, and contacting us about job opportunities.  Likewise, many of our alumni are directors and managers looking for employees.  To meet this demand, the PTAA is launching an online job board that is free to the public and requires no registration or other personal information from the public.  We will be linked to almost all of the professional organizations, allied health societies, and universities. We often receive about 5-10 requests for job postings a day.

The PTAA’s main goal is to provide scholarships to our Physical Therapy students.  The online job board will be one of the means in which we accomplish this goal.  We offer the opportunity to post on our online job board under various specialties specified by the employers. Employers can make unlimited corrections to a current posting or pull down a posting (if the job is filled) and submit a new one for free within their subscription period. The word file will be converted into an Adobe PDF file and visitors will be allowed to view, save, and print it.  Furthermore, our students and alumni will receive an email when new postings hit the web page.  Currently, our email distribution list consists of over 400 physical therapists and 150 physical therapy students and faculty.  Likewise, our web sites ( PT and PTAA ) receive over 400 individual visitors/week.  Each of these visitors frequent our sites as often as 3-4 times/day.
