Post-baccalaureate Certificate Programs
Generalist Certificate
The post-baccalaureate certificate is designed for students who have a baccalaureate degree. Science prerequisites and professional courses are the same as for the B.S. degree. Students are not required to take core curriculum. If students are lacking science prerequisites, they can be taken concurrently with the professional courses.
Students who complete this program are eligible to take the national certification examinations. Students interested in this route should meet with a CLS faculty member to design an academic plan.
Categorical Certificate
This route is designed for students who have a baccalaureate degree and are interested in working in one specific laboratory discipline – hematology, blood bank, chemistry or microbiology. It is primarily for students with limited time to complete the generalist program or who have experience or interest in only one laboratory discipline. Science prerequisites not completed as part of the degree can be completed during the professional phase. Graduates are eligible to take categorical certification examinations. Students should meet with a CLS faculty member to develop an academic plan.
