Coordinated Program in Dietetics

 

Welcome and thank you for your interest in our new Dietetics and Nutrition Program.  Our program received Candidacy for Accreditation in May 2009 from the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education. Students completing our program are considered graduates of an accredited program and are eligible to take national exam to become a registered dietitian (RD).  The Coordinated Program in Dietetics prepares students for entry-level positions in dietetics in a variety of clinical and community settings.

 

In spring 2010, at the request of President William L. Henrich, the University of Texas Health Science Center’s School of Health Professions was thoroughly reviewed by a broad-based committee that recommended significant reorganization of the School. Based on this review, which included a focus on the financial issues facing the University, the Coordinated Program in Dietetics and Nutrition is undergoing reorganization and will not be accepting new students for Fall 2011.

 

For additional information or questions on program prerequisites, transcripts evaluation and the admission process contact our School of Health Professions Welcome Center.  Our Welcome Center offers personalized services to prospective students, applicants, families, and high school and college advisors in providing timely, appropriate information. The Welcome Center works collaboratively with our faculty to facilitate students’ application and admission to our programs.
