Bachelor of Science in Dental Laboratory Sciences

Laboratory Operations Track

The Laboratory Operations Track blends laboratory production with sound business management principles. This track reinforces the student’s understanding and knowledge of laboratory business operations as practiced in the most successful dental laboratories. Specifically, it challenges the student’s abilities in analytical reasoning and problem solving in the extremely competitive dental business environment. Courses include workshops, guest lectures, field trips, individual visits and evaluations of management strategies practiced by various types of dental clinic and laboratory operations.

The Bachelor Degree Program’s primary focus is on dental laboratory leadership, technical and research skills.  Completion of this program requires 120 semester hours.  These hours must be a combination of general education, dental technology, and laboratory management courses.  Non traditional applicants are reviewed and given consideration on a case by case situation.  During the final semester, students may complete an internship under supervision in a commercial or government dental laboratory.  Graduates will receive a Bachelor Degree in Dental Laboratory Sciences.
