Continuing Education
The Department of Dental Laboratory Sciences at UT Health Science Center is committed through its faculty to provide continuing education programs to the practicing dental health care professionals in the Texas community. For over 30 years the department has addressed the dental community’s continuing education needs, thereby assisting them in staying abreast of their fields and in meeting certification requirements as mandated by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners.
Continuing education programs are presented several times each year, depending on the needs and responses of the Texas dental community. These programs are administered on a cost-recovery basis. Appropriate topics for continuing education may include any subject that has the potential of improving the effectiveness or efficiency of dental health care providers. The department presents two large Continuing Education events annually. Please check this site for announcements or contact the department by phone or email. The department informs the Texas dental community of its Continuing Dental Education Program schedules and upcoming Continuing Education events through mail-out brochures. The department maintains a large email-based contact list. The department has had an extraordinarily successful private preceptorship program for individual dental professionals, certified technologists, licensed dentists, etc., who are interested in expanding their existing laboratory knowledge and skills. We have developed individual preceptorship programs to meet the needs of dental professionals on the domestic and international level.
