Clinical Chemistry Faculty Position

The Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences at the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio invites applications for a full-time (12 month), tenure track faculty position.   Primary responsibilities include teaching clinical chemistry (lecture and laboratory) at the undergraduate level and toxicology at the Master’s level.  In addition, the candidate will be expected to participate in scholarly activities including funded research, publication, and professional and University service activities. 

 

Qualifications include a doctoral degree (Ph.D. preferred), teaching and clinical laboratory experience, and a history of funded research. Certification as a CLS (NCA) or MT (ASCP) is preferred.  Specialty certification will be considered.  Salary and rank are commensurate with education and experience. 

 

The Department has both graduate (forensic and analytical toxicology track and immunohematology track) and NAACLS-approved undergraduate programs (clinical laboratory science and cytogenetics).  The Department is one of eleven departments and programs in the School of Health Professions. In addition to the School of Health Professions, the UT Health Science Center also has a Medical School, Dental School, Nursing School, and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. The University’s purpose is to provide the best in health career education, biomedical research, and patient care to San Antonio and the South Texas/Border Region.
