Physician Assistant Program Goals
Our mission: The mission of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Department of Physician Assistant Studies is to prepare primary health care providers who will contribute to the improvement of the mental, social, and physical well being of the underserved and vulnerable people of South Texas. This mission will be accomplished through culturally appropriate, socially relevant education, service, and scholarship.
Our goals as a program derived from our mission. Our efforts to meet our goals are guided by the mission. There is no ranked order to our goals. Each is equally important.
Goals:
- Recruit a diverse student body that is representative of our region.
- High student completion and graduation rate.
- High first-taker PANCE (certification exam) pass rate.
- Graduate employment in South Texas, particularly underserved areas and populations.
- Graduate employment in primary care.
