| What is Community Policing?
It is based on the concept that police officers and private citizens work together in creative ways to help solve community problems related to crime and fear of crime. We seek the input and talents of all members of the community in effort to safeguard our university. One of our goals is to have a positive police presence here on campus. We are able to do this by increasing foot patrols inside the buildings giving us the opportunity to become closer to our community. Establishing and maintaining a mutual trust within the University community will allow the police greater access to valuable information that will lead to prevention of and solutions to crimes. We give orientation presentations and meet with faculty, staff and students through their organizations. Some of the presentations we give are:
