Division
Division Commander - Lieutenant Michael Bleier

The Division Commander is responsible to the Chief of Police for the areas of Criminal Investigations, Program Development, Property & Facility Coordination, Training & Recruiting, Crime Prevention, and Communications.  In addition, this lieutenant is responsible for research and development of new projects within the department.

Criminal Investigations: The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) provides technical assistance to officers in the areas of crime scene processing and collection, preservation, and control of evidence. CID is responsible to complete criminal investigations to ensure final disposition of all such cases for prosecution.

Division Sergeant - vacant

The Division Lieutenant is responsible for the day to day administrative supervision of the division. The Lieutenant is also responsible for the communication support functions within the division. Those functions include radio and telelphone communications, teletype and automated data communications, and the monitoring of departmental alarm systems and Closed Circuit Television Systems.

The Division Lieutenant is also the Program Development Coordinator who is responsible for research into grant funding, maintaining the Emergency Response Plan, maintaining Department weapons as the Armorer, and assisting the Division Commander with new construction & renovation projects.

Property & Facilities Coordinator -
Mr. Tommie Limbrick

The Property & Facilities Coordinator (PFC) is responsible to the Division Commander for the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Initiation of work orders/maintenance requests
          Parking Lots
          Vehicles assigned to Police Department
          Radio repairs
          Entry Control Stations
          Security Lights
          Parking Meter Maintenance
  • Police Equipment and Uniforms
  • Traffic Signs and Devices
  • Perform maintenance of the above as required
  • Special Projects - accomplish other tasks as may be assigned
Training & Recruiting Officer - Corporal Debi Van Horn

The Training & Recruiting Officer (TRO)  is responsible to the Division Commander.  The training unit is tasked with the training responsibilities for all departmental members. The funcitoni includes planning, developing and coordinating training program, scheduling personnel for required training and advisiong them of other training programs, selecting instructors for those programs, and evaluating those training programs. This officer is also responsible for the processing of all applicants to the department, both for sworn and non-sworn positions; and includes contacting applicants, administering physical agility tests, conducting background checks, scheduling appointments, and keeping applicants apprised of their status.

Communication Center

Communications Center Supervisor

Responsible to the Division Commander, the Communication Center Supervisor provides supervision to the staff, and for the operation of the communication center, which encompasses a variety of services to the campus community and to visitors.  The Communication Center Supervisor is multi-trained to conduct all of the operational functions of her staff.

Communication Center

The Communication Center is the nerve center of all police operations and the security of the University and operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (including holidays).  The Communication Center personnel have the following duties:

  •    Monitor 911 calls (Top priority)
  •    Monitor Hold Up alarms
  •    Monitor Emergency Radio Calls from Field Officer
  •    Monitor Phones (i.e. parking lots and elevators)
  •    Monitor Radio Calls from field officers, supply info. when requested
  •    Monitor Intrusion alarms
  •    Monitor CCTV cameras placed all around the University properties
  •    Monitor Door System Buzzers
  •    Dispatch Officers to assist the campus population when requeste
