"This award is presented in recognition of outstanding commitment to
service within the Medical School and the Health Science Center. This
award acknowledges that graduating senior student who has significantly
contributed to the educational and interpersonal experience of students,
faculty and staff."
The above statement is the inscription on the permanent plaque which
describes this award. Consideration for this award is based on a
student's active participation in areas which enhance the institution,
its faculty and staff, the student body or the general community.
Activities at a local, state or national level may be considered in
recommending students for this recognition.
Nominations:All graduating senior students within the Medical School
are eligible. Nominations specifically delineating a student's area of
service and its impact along with a biographical sketch should be
submitted to the Office of the Associate Dean for Student Affairs.
Nominations may be made by any student, faculty person, or staff member
within the Health Science Center.
Deadline: March 1, 2002
Selection: Final selection of the recipient will be made by the Dean of
the Medical School in conjunction with the Associate and Assistant
Deans.
Presentation:The student who is selected for this award will have his or
her name permanently inscribed on a plaque which is within the Office of
the Medical Dean. In addition to an individual plaque, the recipient
will receive a cash honorarium to be presented at the annual Senior
Awards ceremony.
