The original idea for a Visualization-Simulation Center at UTHSCSA came from Dr. Richard Usatine and was developed in collaboration with Jerry York and Dr. John Littlefield with funding from AT&T.
A committee of educators and instructional technology experts was appointed from all the professional schools at UTHSCSA.
To encourage wide-spread use of proven instructional technologies in UTHSCSA teaching programs, we have purchased instructional technology equipment to enhance visualization, simulation and virtual instruction in UTHSCSA teaching programs. Together we are working to develop new visualization and simulation methods for teaching medical procedures using combinations of existing information technology and new systems. Our goal is to encourage creative collaborations that produce new ways to teach with technology.
