SPOC, or Sonography at the Point of Care, is a multidisciplinary healthcare initiative of the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA). The primary objective of the project is train all medical students in our school to become proficient in the use of sonography to evaluate the ailments of patients. We believe that this program will have a major impact on patient care as our graduating physicians utilize sonography to evaluate patients more expeditiously and with greater accuracy than ever before. In executing this program we will be the first medical school in the country to incorporate sonography training into the medical school curriculum.
