Cardiovascular Biomechanics

Vascular wall remodeling, cardiac mechanics, left ventricular remodeling

My research interests are in the field of cardiovascular biomechanics. We combine computational modeling and experimental techniques to investigate the arterial wall remodeling related to aging, atherosclerosis, and aneurysms, as well as the left ventricular remodeling associated with myocardial infarction, aging, and diastolic heart failure. We are interested in both understanding the mechano-biological mechanisms and developing new technology for treatment.

Related Diseases: atherosclerosis, aneurysms, coronary artery disease, vascular diseases, myocardial infarction, heart failure

Techniques: mechanical model analysis, computational simulations, animal model, ex vivo organ culture model
