Asma Khan, Ph.D., B.D.S.

Current research projects include clinical research, translational and basic science research. Clinical projects are on the (1) development of new strategies for the diagnosis and management of acute odontogenic pain, (2) evaluation of new analgesics and anesthetics and, (3) development of new diagnostics for the detection of cracks in teeth. Translational and basic science research projects are focused on the role of extracellular vesicles and microRNAs in pain. The aim is to elucidate the mechanisms by which extracellular vesicles and microRNAs modulate pain.
