The Certificate in Cancer Prevention provides graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, faculty, and other health care professionals with a formal introduction to the essential components for the prevention of cancer. This 12 semester-credit-hour (SCH) program offers formal coursework in topics relevant to cancer prevention and translational science including biostatistics, epidemiology, and clinical trials design and analysis. The program specifically focuses on the unique risks for cancer in the South Texas region.
The goal of this program is to provide graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, faculty, and other health care professionals with formal education in the essential components of the science of cancer prevention.
All students should have a sufficient educational background in the biological or biomedical sciences prior to admission to the program. Learn about your eligibility.
