Associate Dean, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, UT Health San Antonio
Dr. Timothy Raabe started out in college as pre-med but then participated in a (Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship) SURF at UT Health Science Center at San Antonio during the summer of 1988 between his junior and senior year. That summer research experience with Jeremiah T. Herlihy, Ph.D. completely transformed his career plans. Following that summer, he dedicated himself to graduate school and earning his Ph.D. He attended graduate school at UT Austin, completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center, and obtained a tenure-track position at St. Mary's in 1997.
By providing teaching and mentoring to graduate students and/or postdoctoral fellows, he can provide valuable insight for those individuals interested in a career at a primarily undergraduate institution.
