Biography

Brittany works with the Center on Smart and Connected Health Technologies which focuses on integrating smart, connected and wearable technology into clinical care. Using data from connected technology worn by patients and integrating it into the clinical setting provides additional resources for doctors, nurses, researchers and the public to improve health outcomes. Brittany’s research areas include clinical trials, qualitative data analysis and behavioral lifestyle interventions in diabetes, hypertension, Alzheimer’s and COVID-19.    

2nd Research Topic: Mechanisms of drug resistance to DNA damaging drugs in Ewing sarcoma, working in the lab of Dr. Raushan Kurmasheva. The ultimate goal of the lab is to improve the current treatment of childhood sarcoma by developing more effective and less toxic therapies for Ewing sarcoma patients. Research in the lab includes: selecting and testing molecular targets, combination drug therapies, and patient-derived xenograft (PDX) mouse models.
