John-Paul is working on translational research of aging and aging-related metabolic diseases. His research projects focus on molecular mechanisms underlying the role mitochondrial dysfunction in cellular senescence, aging, and aging-relate diseases using molecular, cellular, metabolic, and transgenic approaches. The overarching goals of his research work is to identify novel treatment and prevention of aging and the related metabolic dysfunctions, including type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
