About me

I grew up in Houston, a town that I love very much! Pretty much all of my primary and undergraduate schooling took place in Houston. I think growing up there is a major reason why I am a huge foodie and love all things food-related. When I'm not busy with school, I love enjoying the company of my cat Teddy and living vicariously through him. Watching him lay around and sleep all day brings happiness to my heart and motivates me to work harder, for his sake of course.

Hobbies/Interests

Cooking (I can make all sorts of food from scratch!)

Going out to try interesting restaurants

Hanging out with faraway friends on Discord

Taking lots and lots of pictures of my cat, Teddy

Anonymously airdropping said cat pictures to my classmates

Research Topic

Genomics, Data analytics, Cancer Epigenetics

Why I chose MD/PhD

I found myself in a spot where I loved patient interaction and basic science research, and I really couldn't see myself giving up one for another! Additionally, I had amazing mentors who helped me grow to love both facets of discovery- on the bench and in the wards.

Why I chose MD/PhD at UT Health San Antonio

The biggest draw for me was the amount of attention and guidance every one of us receive from all facets of the program leadership. I don't think any other school has a community as dedicated as ours.
