Dental Hygiene Program Admissions Prerequisite Course List

All dental hygiene prerequisites must be completed by the end of the spring semester of the year you are entering. Up to 6 credit hours may be in progress during the spring semester prior to admittance with all science courses completed by the previous fall. The 6 credit hours must be completed by May and final transcripts submitted by June 1. Dental Hygiene applicants must complete the Texas Core Curriculum that consists of 42 semester credit hours and the Program prerequisites that consists of 18 semester credit hours.

Some courses that satisfy core curriculum requirements also may be used to satisfy program prerequisites. See the Texas General Education Core Web Center for more information.
