Joseph Boice
Class of 2017
The son of an Army oral surgeon, Dr. Joe Boice grew up living in many different locations, including Alabama, Texas, Hawaii and Germany. When his family settled in Washington State, he attended the University of Puget Sound for his undergraduate education, where he received a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. He then attended dental school at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, where he received his D.M.D. in 2010. Upon graduating dental school, he was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Camp Pendleton, CA. He was then selected for full-time out-service training in oral and maxillofacial surgery through the Navy. Dr. Boice’s interest in OMS comes from the challenges the specialty offers and its unique blend of dentistry and medicine. His interests outside OMS include spending time with his wife, Melissa, competing in triathlons, and exploring San Antonio.
