Tim Betita
Class of 2017
Dr. Tim Betita was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. He moved to Miami, Florida for two years to be a missionary where he fell in love with the Latino culture. He went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree in Latin American Studies from Brigham Young University. He attended the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California. During dental school he founded and is the CEO of a non-profit organization called Pillars Foundation based out of San Francisco designed to bring dental care to poor communities both domestically and internationally. Using Pillars Foundation as a vehicle, Dr. Betita has led several medical and dental excursions to various remote locations in Latin America where there was little to no access to healthcare. During these mission trips he was able to meet several oral and maxillofacial surgeons and together they helped many patients with their knowledge of medicine, surgical skills and dental expertise. Those experiences helped motivate him along his path to become an oral and maxillofacial surgeon.
Dr. Betita is now a resident in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) department at UT Health San Antonio. He enjoys the wide breadth of scope of OMS from dental implants and extractions to facial trauma and cosmetics. Outside of OMS, his interests include traveling, outdoor sports and spending time with his wife, children and friends.
