Date Description Institution # Students
11/2017 - 5/2021 Pre-Doctoral Student Supervision UTHSCSA Dental School
7/2017 - Present Introduction to Restorative Dentistry The University of Texas Health Science Center
Co-Course Director - Helped develop DFRD5001 Foundations in Restorative Dentistry with Dr. Edward Wright. All of the Biomaterials 1 and 2 lectures and projects have been moved to the first semester of DFRD5001, and whenever possible, have been synchronized with the preclinical labs of DFRD5001 and DFRD5002 to enhance the student's understanding of the Biomaterials lectures. Initial comments on this timing have been very positive from the students.

Initially, Biomaterials 1 and 2 were team-taught by three faculty members: Dr. Barry Norling, Dr. Ralph Rawls and me. However, Dr. Norling passed away, and Dr. Rawls has been out ill for over a year. As such, I am the only person teaching biomaterials and in the first (transition) year of implementation when I had to teach both DFRD 5001 and Biomaterials 2, I was teaching six times more than before in the first semester. I will be the only person teaching biomaterials from now on.
