International Dentist Education Program (IDEP) Academics Information
The IDEP offers qualified graduates of foreign dental programs the opportunity to earn the Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the Health Science Center. In the first term students participate in a pre-matriculation course that prepares students from diverse backgrounds, training and experience levels for success! This hybrid course consists of an interactive online training geared to help you enhance your knowledge, and strengthen weaknesses while in the comfort of your home followed by a short customized hands-on training taught by specialists and content experts, geared to maximize your clinical skills and prepare you for integration into clinic. Qualified students are integrated with traditional D3 students to complete the heavily clinical final two years of the DDS curriculum. The training you will receive will allow you to take the state or regional board examination.
The academic path that students will follow during the course of this program includes online training, didactic and preclinical laboratory as well as clinical training.
