Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Residency Clinical Details
This 36-month program prepares dentists for careers in specialized diagnostic clinical practice. In this program, students will acquire:
Advanced clinical skills in Oral and Maxillofacial Imaging and in clinicoradiologic correlation:
- General dental radiology, including technique and interpretation of intraoral and panoramic images
- Advanced imaging including intraoral photography, skull radiology, plain film tomography, sialography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and nuclear imaging
- Rotations in hospital radiology, dental radiology clinic, and tertiary care oral and maxillofacial radiology clinic
- Clinicopathologic conference, radiology grand rounds and radiology case conferences
- Digital imaging, image processing, and image analysis
- Courses in imaging physics, radiation biology, pathology, statistics, and biomedical sciences
- Rotations in various clinical services including geriatric extended care settings, oral and maxillofacial surgery, and oral diagnosis clinic with emphasis on clinicoradiologic correlation
- Selection from a wide range of clinical and basic science electives
