Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.)

D.D.S.

The Doctor of Dental Surgery is the dental degree that is required for the general practice of dentistry. It also is required for any advanced education programs. Our program at the UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry combines multidisciplinary training with a strong clinical focus, which prepares our students for a range of dental careers.

  • How to Apply

    Approximately 100 students are admitted to each entering class. Dental school admission is highly competitive.

  • Our DDS Degree Program

    The first two years features integrated basic and clinical sciences. Each progressive year will result in further clinical experiences in our general dentistry clinics.

  • 90 semester credit hours from an accredited university or college
  • Grade of C or better in required courses

    Opening of the Dr. Phil & Karen Hunke Special Care Clinic, where we will meet the needs of patients with cognitive and physical disabilities, while providing interdisciplinary educational opportunities for students.
