The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency is a six-year medical degree certificate program with openings for three positions per year. We occasionally offer a 4 year track certificate-only option to fulfill the programs needs.
There is an excellent balance between inpatient admissions and outpatient visits encompassing dentoalveolar and implant surgery, maxillofacial trauma, pathology, orthognathic, preprosthetic, temporomandibular joint and reconstructive surgery.
There are approximately 10,000 outpatient procedures performed annually in the oral surgery clinic and 450 hospital admissions.
Our residents are exposed to an intense twice a week didactic program that involves all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgical practice.
Dental school admission is highly competitive. We accept three residents each year. Prospective participants have to apply through PASS and the National Match.
Our fourth year of residency is spent in a general surgery/anesthesia internship (PGY1 certificate), which exposes residents to a variety of surgical techniques and management of pre- and post-operative care.
Tuition may vary depending on coursework and academic needs, as well as your year of residency.
The resident is paid an annual salary while he/she is providing resident service.
