The Occupational Therapy Program at University of Texas Health Science Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education of the American Occupational Therapy Association ACOTE c/o Accreditation Department American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), 4720 Montgomery Lane, Suite 200, Bethesda, MD 20814-3449 - (301) 652-6611. Graduates of the program will be able to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapists administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR®). Certification is necessary for licensure in most states. Please note: A felony conviction may affect a graduate's ability to sit for the NBCOT examination and or attain a state license.

The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097, to award certificates and baccalaureate, master's, doctoral, and professional degrees. The institution was last reviewed and reaffirmed in 2008. The institution's accreditation extends through 2018, and includes all programs offered on the institution's main campus as well as those offered at all extended program sites.
